Event Information
Funds raised on the night will support Mounties Care Cottage, while also acknowledging the mission of Rio's Legacy — which works closely with services supporting children with life-limiting and terminal conditions. Rio's Legacy conducts fundraising activities, advocates for children and families, and supports care services that walk alongside families during incredibly challenging times.
Every ticket purchased and every pledge helps strengthen the network of care available to some of the most vulnerable children and families in our community.
Our goal is bold but necessary: to raise over $400,000 to help bring Mounties Care Cottage closer to opening and to expand vital support services across NSW.
Community Impact
Rio's Legacy was founded to support families navigating the unimaginable reality of caring for a child with a life-limiting condition. Working alongside hospitals and care facilities, Rio's Legacy advocates for dignity, access and compassion — supporting families in intensive care settings and those accessing end-of-life and respite services.
Together, Mounties Group and Rio's Legacy are committed to creating a future where children and families can access specialised care close to home — ensuring no family faces this journey alone.

Sally Bowrey
Sally Bowrey — well known presenter across Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise, The Morning Show, and Seven News — is a cherished and long-standing Ambassador for Rio's Legacy. Over many years, Sally has helped bring our mission to life both on and off screen, generously sharing our story, elevating our message, and helping the community understand the vision that has now culminated in Mounties Care Cottage becoming a reality.
Sally will join Mark Ferguson as the MCs for A Night in Rio, bringing her warmth, energy, and deep personal connection to our cause.

Mark Ferguson
Mark Ferguson, Sydney's Seven News Anchor, has been a proud Ambassador for Rio's Legacy for over eight years. Throughout this time, Mark has played a key role in championing our mission, helping the wider community understand the families we support and the critical need for compassionate paediatric palliative care. His advocacy has been instrumental in the journey toward seeing Mounties Care Cottage come to life.
Mark will join Sally Bowrey as the MCs for A Night in Rio, guiding our inaugural Gala with the professionalism, warmth, and genuine care he has shown our community since the very beginning.

Colin Buchanan
Colin Buchanan is one of Australia's most respected singer-songwriters, known for crafting songs that connect with audiences through clarity, warmth and a distinctly Australian sense of story. A 10-time Golden Guitar winner, he is also an ARIA and APRA award recipient, and has collaborated with many of Australia's leading country music artists.
He is a familiar face to generations of Australian families through his presenting on ABC TV's Play School, and as the author of a wide range of children's picture books.
